The Wyoming Silver-Haired Legislature began in 1982. It is a unicameral legislature. There are two elected representatives from each county (23) and four (4) representatives from the Shoshoni-Arapahoe Reservation. The session is 2-3 days in length and is generally held in the State House Chambers in the State Capitol. The next session will meet in September of 2010.

From 1982 through 1986 the SHL met every year. Due to financial limitations, the SHL began meeting every other year starting in 1988.
